Is your mindset as good as it can be? Are you aware of it? Do you want to enhance any part of it?

We need to work on changing our mindset! All of us can improve. It is only when we change our mindset and enhance and improve that we can TRULY release the greatness within us. If we are working hard on being a more GRATEFUL individual, then this is how we are going to do that.

Optimists see themselves as doing better than they actually did. Pessimists are usually more realistic. However, the optimist will continue to push him/herself because they keep saying, “I’ll do even better next time”. Therefore, the optimist keeps doing it and succeeds at 4-5 fold that of a pessimist. Resilience is a key component of an attitude of gratitude. An attitude of gratitude comes from your Optimists see themselves as doing better than they actually did. There are many different simple ways to begin this process. What is the common denominator you ask? It’s consistent and intentional action. Here are my top 3 daily recommendations to achieve an attitude of gratitude:

1.Positive Affirmations

2.Gratitude Journal

3.Environment to Excel

*You can say positive affirmations any time of day! I’d recommend picking a weekly or daily affirmation. If it’s something you’re working on for the longer term, then pick a weekly affirmation. Repeat it at least 3 times in the morning and 3 times in the evening. If you say it out loud it helps even more!

*Gratitude Journals are a great KEEPSAKE And EXERCISE for adopting this new attitude of gratitude. It can be a fun and fancy journal or keep it simple in an old school notebook. The important thing is to write in it daily. How much? Don’t worry about how many entries you add per day, just get them in there! I would challenge you to write at least 3/day! I enjoy doing this at night, as it’s a good way to settle your mind, body, and soul prior to bed.

*Creating an environment to excel is important because it’s what you are exposed to daily. What does this look like? Think of the areas you frequent almost EVERY DAY (bathroom mirror, fridge, car, front door etc.). Have a sticky note or note board where you have your affirmations and other encouraging and grateful words written down. Whenever you pass by them, even if it’s not intentional, you will “explore” those positive words. The very act of seeing them will be beneficial.
